Design what?

The hotel does not deserve the name design. All i saw was simple kitch. Arriving at the hotel was fine, and the blonde receptionist was lovely. Next to her was middle-aged man sitting and talking to some teenage boy. I assume that was the manager who completely ignored us, no greeting, nothing. We got our prestige room, and upon entering the room, we thought WTH. First of all, getting to the room was like going through the maze. You take a lift, then navigate yourself through the maze and another flight of stairs to your room. In the middle of the room, jacuzzi with a sofa facing it. Tiles were smudged with some cleaning products to look clean but far from it. The entire place is dirty. See the photos attached. Right on the ceiling above the bed so much accumulated dust, and you can't tell me they didn't see it. It's never been cleaned. The redhead had so much dust on it. Bed linen was hard like a tea towel, not to mention the pillows. The pillow filling felt like it was a sponge cut into pieces. Don't bother with the breakfast. I feel sick thinking about it. All we had was some butter and bread. The young guy wearing a black t shirt was cleaning the tables with a very wet cloth, then going to the open plan kitchen, not washing his hands before making/cutting breakfast buffet. This has to be one of the worst experiences. Don't bother having breakfast at the hotel if you decide to stay, right opposite the hotel is a nice bakery. You'll be safer eating there, i guess. The bathroom is a separate story. Make sure you bring some domestos to clean the filthy tiles and your toilet paper as the one they provide is similar to a 180-grit sand paper.

Breakfast was the highlight of the stay

Very good location, room was quite comfortable though with no daily cleaning. Very good breakfast. 'Phone based key caused a problem after one day but there was an alternative available. The room price was just about ok, but not great value, but would use hotel again.

Fantastic location!

Great location! Really friendly staff. We stayed in a standard room which was good size, nice and clean. Breakfast better than expected. Beautiful surroundings. Plenty of amazing shops and restaurants around. Will definitely visit again.

It's now my favorite Maastricht hotel!

Good location, safe parking 5 minutes walk away, Restaurants and shops close, clean and nice rooms, enough space in the room, we had a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, double shower:-) which was funny for the children, huge television, very good breakfast with a warm welcome in the morning

Dust up!

Design hotel? More like disease hotel. That’s what describes my experience. Starting with a room will all amenities including a good old batch of dust, yes, lot’s of it. Woke up from my first night with the allergies kicking in, sore throat, cough, sneezing and red eyes. The 4 stars turning into the 4 symptoms. Got myself to the reception on this first morning where the receptionist promised to have my room fully cleaned after I pointed out my allergies. Went to have breakfast right after and there is a good shock of poorly cleaned materials and cabinets. An hotel not only for the people but where bacteria can also take a nap and feel cozy (forget the nap part). When I got back to the hotel at the end of the day, my room was the same, dust, dust and more dust. The reception said it was their mistake and they would book a housekeeping for the next day, another night with a dusty room? Unbearable, I mentioned my allergies again and they would then clean the room while i was out for dinner. When I returned, my room had some clean towels and more water bottles but no difference regarding the dust situation. I tried to clean it myself with a wet towel, but the room is so dusty that within 5 minutes everything was the same again. We left the hotel the next morning checking out earlier than expected, because of illness. This is a concern for public health and the hotel should think on how their approach should change. 2 of the WORST nights I had in my life. 158€/night for this, I was robbed. DO NOT STAY at this hotel!
